Bat detector basics

Small signel is amplified by op-amp then the frequency is divided by 16 to light the LED. It is the basis of a frequency divider Bat detector. Bats emit ultrasound of between 20kHz and 80 kHz. This is above human hearing range. Dividing the sound frequency by 16 bring it down to 1.4 - 8kHz, well within our range to hear them.
