This simulation demonstrates the natural response first order of both an RL and RC circuit. To see the natural response of both circuits, click on the switches to open /close them.
Take a look at the current through the inductor and the voltage above the capacitor when the switches are flipped. You will notice how the current and voltage decay to zero once the switch flips to show the natural response.
