Electric arc desk toy type thing

Alrighty, another tired mind tinkering creation. This is based off of the oh so popular joule thief, and uses the principal of a flyback transformer to( hopefully) create nice little arcs between two contacts that would be soldered to the legs of the output cap and spaced closer than the legs of said cap. Now, if this were to work in real life, it probably wouldnt take long to kill a standard 9v batt so I envision a 9v wall wort like the kind you can sometimes find powering phones at your work. Lol. In addition, this would freaking hurt to get zapped by so yeah, dont do that. I suggest a glass case or something else people with common sense would use to prevent feeling stupid. Please modify, critique, or throw snappy insults as you see fit.

I think there are much more simple yet usable circuits than this. A 10H transformer with 1K secondary would be huge yet there are much smaller devices like bug-zappers tasers which could gice you quite the zap. I dont know there is something fishy about Your circuit but I cant put my finger on it. :)

As i calculated secondary side with 1k turns ratio have overall inductance around 3,3 kiloHenry soooo u beat world record in inductance ammout in practical used devices. And u beat a deltamax cored high voltage magamps whose were build up to 1kiloHenry max for devices used as instrumentation isolating amplifiers for direct monitoring medium voltage power lines lol.

There are much easier ways to make a spark toy type thingy :D just make a blocking oscilattor and step it up with a step up transformer and if thats not enough run it through a diode voltage multiplier. At the output you should get 20kV DC from 9V or 12V battery ;). This should minimise the whole project instead of using enormous transformers and stuff.

Or just buy an eht flyback on ebay. Best are from sony trinitron. Over 50kV ca be generated and pumped with 70watts of power.'A plasma arc ignition are encountered and sparks easily ignite any kind of material and burn holes

Good stuff yall. Thanks for the tips. I try not to use just what ive seen built before, and sometimes I just get carried away when I see that first hint of a promising output. Simple things like transformers the size of rooms. Lol
