Flasher using relay and transistor

This is a simple flasher unit using a relay and a transistor. You can use a 555 timer as the square wave source at any frequency you want. You can use it in turn indicators or to flash tail or headlight. Just upgrade the components to 12 volts.

Really bad. Never - NEVER use a relay as an oscilator!! Use a 555, or a schmitt trigger, or a mechanical pendulum, but NOR RELAY!!!

A relay used in this manner will be noisy and prone to mechanical failure. Transistors are efficient and more reliable.
