Circuit with the same function of relay working with transistors and resistors, working even better than a Relay. ----In the transistor circuit. -The voltage source left is the that in relay makes the coil work. -The voltage source right is the that gives or no to the out of this one circuit. ----Notes -I think this circuit is better than relay because sometimes the coil of this one delay to activate and because circuit with transistor should be MORE SMALL than a relay of any size. -The principal objetive of transistor that the creators had(John Bardeen, William Shockley and Walter Brattain) of the transistor was replace this one for the relay but they didnt succeed. Then they decide to replace him with the vacuum tube in that season. ------------------------Español Circuito con la misma funcion de un rele, con transistores y resistencias. ---En el circuito de transistores. -El voltaje de la izquierda es el que en el relay hace accionar la bobina. -El voltaje de la derecha es el que da el voltaje de salida en el circuito. ---Notas -Pienso que este circuito trabaja mejor que un rele ya que la bobina de este en algunas ocasiones se demora un poco en accionar y ademas que este circuito llegaria ser MAS PEQUEÑO que un rele(si se transforma en un circuito integrado). -El principal objetivo del transistor que sus creadores tenian(John Bardeen, William Shockley y Walter Brattain) era remplazar el rele por el transistor pero no se logro y entonces pensaron en remplazar este por un tubo de vacio en ese entonces. :) :D

The thing is, relays, as they have physical inductors, normally require about 10 volts to switch. Also, inside a NOT gate there are two more transistors. And you are right, both could work with certain batteries, depending on what kind of a circuit you want to build. It all depends on voltages and the overall power delivered through the circuit.

Relays come in working voltages as low as 3 volts.
