It took a while to figure out but here it is. A 12VDC to 120VAC sine wave inverter using a 555 timer in astable mode to get a DC pulse frequency to 60Hz then with a primary transformer to convert the pulsating DC to AC and finally to a secondary transformer to boost the voltage to approximately 120 volts AC @ 60Hz smoothed into a sine wave using capacitor filters and low ohm resisters.

Voltage is a bit low and outpower with about 10mW also.

Any ideas on how to boost power?

Look around there are millions of circuits. I did also some ;-) the trick is turning secondary and primary side of transformer check out some of my circuits i describe there why using transformer within EC in reverse is useful for inverter. Keep it up!
