Shake the device to start oscillations.According to barkhausen criteria we need Aβ>1 for sustaining oscillations. But for a practical circuit this leads to distortion. So we use diode amplitude stabilization for this circuit.Open the switch and diode are removed and there is no amplitude stabilization. The circuit is designed for a frequency of 1KHz and 10Vpp amplitude.
