You can have as many leds as you can afford to buy so long as you balance the voltage and current proportionally to suit the particular leds you buy as they have different voltage and current requirements per type.

Remove one diode from each column and raise the resistors to 100Ohms, my hint - use 7812 as volt. Stabiliser

The circuit is good dont listent to them you want all of your energy to be used in led not in resistors.
