For every time the supply crosses zero, there will be a pulse generated.
→If the supply crosses zero from negative to positive, then there will be a positive pulse.
→ If the supply crosses zero from positive to negative, then there will be a negative pulse.
Change the frequency of the supply to verify.
The circuit consists of two main components
1) Comparator.
2) Differentiator
Comparator:
By providing positive feedback to an op amp, the op amp works as a comparator.
Differentiator:
It is just the RC series circuit:

dVo/dt=-Vin/RC
This formula can be derived from the Time of charging and discharging equation of the RC series circuit, where
Vo=Vin(e^(t/RC)) .
To get a higher voltage, reduce the value of Resistance and capacitance, or Use a non inverting amplifier.
