Ah the good ol Joule thief. You should put some sort of internal resistance value (eg: 36mΩ) in series with your cell, otherwise simulating the decoupling cap doesn't seem like it's necessary even if it's definitely a good idea IRL.

I did not understand the first sentence. As for the internal resistance of the battery, you are right. The scheme has many other invisible properties that theoretically need to be considered. However, I like Every Circuit for simplicity, which makes it possible to quickly check the idea. As for the scheme itself, this is a classic blocking generator, which in the tube version can be found in electronic textbooks in the 40s of the last century.

Yes, you are absolutely right, this circuit has been known as a blocking oscillator for a long time but relatively recently it saw a large surge in popularity as a circuit meant to run LEDs from alkaline batteries which would otherwise be considered dead. The name refers to getting the last few joules of energy from these cells. Just search for Joule thief schematics and you'll see what i might.
