Well I'll be dammed , this can be done with even fewer gates! Times like this I wanna kick myself cos the solution was so simple an elegant , gotta stop over-engineering :P

The above blue trace shows the spike and the green below is smooth during reset transition 8)

Look thomaslss 8) I fluke'd on freezing the circuit on exactly the reset transition (it's showing A and 0) , it's a sign from above that this is as efficient as we can get it :P Ha ha

Greate, may be I can remove the unwanted 6A in my 12 hour clock.

There is another way I noticed others circuits that didn't show the reset error cos the laggy 7seg 'convergence' setting, but I know that's a no-go!
