Simple continuity tester. The switch represents a wire sample using a 12v circuit and a series of single-cell batteries 1.5v each. The bulb represents the buzzer while the red diode just represents a typical LED. The buzzer and LED are in parallel in case one unit fails.

If overall 3V was needed, why not use only 2 single cell batteries of 1.5V each. Why use 6? Please make me understand
