This circuit acts as a Switch almost like the BJT, but in this case, the base is controlled with voltage, so we don't need to use any resistor to the base to limit the amount of current because the Mosfet has a high impedance at his gate, but there should be a resistor between the Gate and the Drain to help the gate return to 0 volts, this is going to be the pull-down resistor.
