To create multiple sawtooth forms. If you change duty-cycle you can get more waves.
This circuit uses transistor capacities to became a current generator.
Using potentiometers (up - charge, down- discharge) you can modify the rise and fall time producing all sawtooth you can imagine.
Potentiometers to 1%, faster charge or discharge.
Potentiometers to 99%, slower charge or discharge.
As you can see sawtooth signal can go up or down depending on how is DC level.
