By transformer turn ratio 120 Tp x 12 Ts with 1 amp 120vac the secondary should have been 12vac 10amp. end product is 12.5 and 5.5 amp after increasing secondary 1 turn to achieve 12 volts

For 120 V AC you need 169 V at peak

169 vac ÷ 1.414 = 119.5. Yep that checks
