This time without a transformer and at a lower current but higher voltage. I calculated the efficiency at very slow simulation speed to be greater than 99%. I also excluded the output filter.

I don’t know. The way you describe wave impurity is not by the shape it takes on an oscilloscope but generally by the strength of various harmonics versus the strength of the main frequency, or the strength of all the harmonics added together versus the strength of the main frequency.
