You should not start the simulation in a "not allowed/forbidden" state. Everycircuit logic gates are CMos ones. There is no resistor at the gate inputs needed. Im afraid the resistors are left over from an evolutionary point of explanation. To document digital networks, normaly you make use of truth tables. Here we are missing such a table.
