Help me understand this

If you start the Sim with the max output of the first opamp being less than 5v, it says cannot find solution. But if you start with greater than 5v and slowly decrease, it will be fine. I want max output of the first opamp to be 3v so the second output is 9v. Can anyone help me understand this please?

That is really, REALLY, weird. Maybe some simulator problem on startup with an OP-amp driving another OP-amp even though the inputs are infinite resistance and the outputs are zero resistance.

this will affect the maximum output value of the opamp

Thanks for your replies guys. It seems like it is an ec bug? Anyways, I'll have to find a legitimate way of doing this compare and amplify thing i guess.

Seems like the gain of the amplifier is the factor there. Dunno if there is a theory behind that :/
