More or less... problematic is while the switch is in open. Both comparator inputs do get 0V. But 0V is not exactly 0V. There is also added noise and the comparator must take a decision which input is higher than the other. This will cause a random output. But the moment you push the button, its fine and perfectly working. Make the voltage divider constantly working and the rest you will find out. Hope this helps.

What if the comparator is powered from the same source that is to be connected ?!

Thats my plan, but not sure if it will work... Will try it on a breadboard and find out. :)

Tested and works like a charm! Everyting was powerd from the same 12V source, so there is no power on the comparator if switch is open. Used it to drive a smal relay.
