You don't need to ground the lamps when every load on the AC sources are the same. This makes you need less cables and is commonly used in high voltage lines.

That is true in theory, in ideal conditions. The problem is, when you unbalance (overload) any of the phases, the neutral wire rebalances them. The ground wire, separately, protects the device (and your house) from catching fire and protects you from electrocution if any phase wire (or even neutral) touches the chassis on your device.
