Very nice, but - sorry - the circuit doesn't work if one changes the voltmeter to a resistance less than 100k (for instance a LED with an upstream resistance less than 100k).

This is obviously a bug in the simulation program: if you use LTSpice XVI as simulation, then it works correctly.
