Has the advantage of greatly improving the power factor of a full bridge rectifier. Probably not particularly practical for that purpose.

I think resonate power transfer is used a lot for wireless charging. The transformer would be two air coils, one on the transmitter and one one the receiver with a weak coupling coefficient.
