Simple latching relay example as used in too many commercial applications to list. Press N.O. momentary switch on right to activate the relay coil, operating lamp. Normally open contact changes state and also feeds power to the relay coil itself. Press N.C. momentary switch on left to break power to the circuit and resetting relay.

You are correct thumper. The basic function can be found from intercoms, Fire alarms to nurse call systems and many more. Yours is working just fine. Keep it up.
