A twist on PWM. This is an example of PAM. This method of modulation uses a square wave and a sine wave to create a square wave that varies in amplitude (voltage) and follows the trace of the sine wave. The signal is tapped from the Resistor and the Collector of the BJT.

Try using a Triangle wave or a Sawtooth/Ramp for other affects.
