My first bench power supply - NOT recommended.

This was basically my first attempt ( 30 years ago roughly ) at making a variable bench power supply. The left half is just a step down transformer, bridge rectifier and a smoothing capacitor. The potentiometer must have been a high wattage one and is used to ( approximately ) set the output voltage, the lamp represents the output load. For various reasons it's not a very good power supply but it did work.
