Countdown. need help for some improvement

The countdown only work from (1-9) to 0.
Tap button and set purple-ish logic source to 1 to increase number by 1.
Set green-ish logic source to 1 to start counting.
*NB for accuracy set green-ish logic source to 0 while increasing number.
Is it good enough?

Nice work. Why don't you put pins 1 and 8 together on Vcc (5v), and the button (currently on UP) on the Load? This way, by pushing the button the countdown starts in 9 automatically. I don't know if this will generate some problem with the pulse generator. Maybe it's gonna need some logic to prevent some instant decrease.

And that relay makes the circuit a little bit awkward to me... Other improvements you can make are: possibility to pause the countdown; possibility to choose the starting number (just put logic sources on the bit inputs); numbers bigger then 9.

@amdrfseeberger the relay function is to remove the glitch(0 to F)
