If you lower the capacitance to a reasonable/realistic level the circuit works. 1000 farads is very unrealistic...

also, try increasing the time stamp to 100ms/s or more. such big capacitance might cause some time constant calculation errors.

45 MA current spike shown through the cap ! ....EC push buttons are very sensitive and soon stop working. Use a switch here instead to see the current through the cap.

Replace the diode with a 12 Ohm resistor to reduce the spike.
