Bistable Multivibrators have two stable states and can be flipped from one state to the other by a trigger pulse (in this example a push button) maintaining a given output state indefinitely unless a trigger pulse is applied via the push button thus changing state. Consider it a type of flip flop storing a bit of data as used in computer memory and digital logic applications. Enjoy you electronics journey...😎
