Actually, it will work. Gates are supposed to be supplied 5V voltage to work apart from INPUT voltages. That 5V has no link to input voltage but the output comes from that 5V. We usually do not show 5V because the output is constant and only depends on inputs supplied.

Put the gates voltage be 5 volt you will get the same
