Fractal 🐉 using gates. Iterates to 7 folds and then in reverse, there's enough circuit space for more iterations but the oscilloscope trace is too short What's a dragon curve https://www.google.com/search?q=dragon+curve Hilbert curve https://everycircuit.com/circuit/4796901781929984 I'll try give a break down of how the circuit does it if anyone interested?

Interesting. Fractals are somewhat beyond my knowledge right now, but it sure looks swell.

This video will help it's the first I saw about it, watch it you'll see dragon curve are deceivingly simple, maybe try making a paper dragon like in the vid, have a ponder of what's happening and I'm sure you'll come up with your own solution / algorithm 😉 https://youtu.be/wCyC-K_PnRY?si=Bd93BnhOZnaHjalD

Great resource 👍. I feel like I have a better understanding. Yes, I tried folding the dragon curve out of paper. I used long strips of Christmas wrapping paper. It looked really swell!

Great stuff! It's amazing to see how seemingly complex patterns arise from simple rules. Good idea using wrapping paper it's thin, how many folds did you achieve? I tried with copier paper and it gets tough after 5 folds, the peaks and valleys gets less defined. You may have heard that folding paper would reach the highest mountain 🏔️ with 27 folds and the moon 🌙 with 42 folds 🤯

I managed to get 7 folds. It's amazing that with 42 folds, the paper would reach the moon! I suppose that could be because the paper length is cut in half with every fold. So, that would mean the length would have to be multiplied by 2 for each fold, growing like an exponential (I think...)

Yup each fold is doubling the height exponentially. Moon distance 384,400km, 42 folds is 2^42 x 0.1mm(paper thickness) will be 439,804km high and (I guess) a few carbon atoms across depending on the original paper size... crazy huh!

fractal shape is impressive but trace is short

Yeah there's nothing I can do about the trace length besides try speed up the circuit even more
