O transistor faz um LED não acender quando o outro estiver aceso. O capacitor determina o tempo que o LED permanece aceso. Necessita do ruído, pois os transístores são teoricamente ideais, sendo necessário inserir um fator externo, que desbalanceia o sistema.

Its so simple, its a older invention, but still is enjoyed by the hobbysts who want a astable simple and cheap.
