BJT nonlinear region

If you're designing an amplifier in EC, then Vce = ~250mV is where the nonlinear region (clipping) begins. I thought it was closer to 200mV and always designed for 300mV. I guess i was cutting it close.. get it.. nvm

What you probably mean is saturation.

Saturation is Vc < Vb. The transistor is in saturation here, but that doesn't mean that it is significantly non-linear at 700mV.

Saturation happens if you use a transistor as switch, and a switch is by definition a non-linear componente.
