No, this is not wrap foil candy or gum wrapper around burnt out fuse and push back in fuse clips. Ten to Twenty volts is about foil range.
This is cut and test to get foil width or thin wire size to work as proper fuse to custom protect expensive or sensitive equipment. Could be mounted on Bakelite board with screws (6/32 inch) with brass clips to hold foil and connect power wires to homemade fuses. Try different widths to get just wide enough to carry circuit load.
In above circuit, bottom between the two closed switches is where fuse goes.
To cut foil, I placed two sheets paper on table, about 2 inch square of foil, then press this down with straight edge, and cut with razor blade along side of straight edge. I find three light cuts keeps crinkles out of foil.
Set battery supply at selected voltage, using current meter, adjust load setting for desired current flow.
