Nah @dolfina. That part is okay. But the circuit is incomplete as the AC is now a pulse, but it has to be flattened by an RC circuit.

Badly drawn, which makes it confusing! Move ground to junction of two diode anodes. Add 100uF capacitor across lamp. Increase voltage to 5 Volts. Monitor top end of lamp. If you also monitor ground it is easier to see circuit is working as expected.

Actually, 3V is better so lamp doesn’t burn.
