Can diode realy drop this much in real circuit? I believe diode has dynamic resistance... Do express your views!

The EveryCircuit diode has a built-in 1Ω resistance. When you hit the wrench icon to change the parameters, one parameter shows up called saturation current with a vertical yellow bar to the left of it. The yellow bar means that you can tap this parameter to bring up a list of parameters from which you can select which one you want to modify. Among this list of parameters is the resistance of the diode. Components with only one adjustable parameter do not have this yellow bar.

It is really unfortunate that EveryCircuit does not make this more obvious. Many beginners, including myself when I was a beginner, have been missing out on the other parameters of the components because EveryCircuit makes it so non-obvious that these parameters exist and can be modified.

@jason9, this has been a problem with this app right from the word go. There have been suggestions that it is a deliberate ploy - so that you ‘learn as you go’ but imo all it causes is a much lower rate of learning. After about 5 years here I still look at some circuits and wonder how certain things have been done. You do pick it up as you go along and, like many people, I’ve asked other users for advice. But, after all this time, I still would like there to be a user manual. Unfortunately any such request falls on deaf ears.

Yes, truly. This app could be much better with nothing but just a bunch of small fixes, changes, and additions (not even asking for new components here). It’s a shame that the devs refuse to do even that. Even a single developer could this in just a few weekends (maybe even one). Especially some of the more trivial things could be fixed super easily, such as the 555 timer output impedance of -15Ω.

EveryCircuit is an easy to use, highly interactive circuit simulator and schematic capture tool. Real-time circuit simulation, interactivity, and dynamic visualization make it a must have application for professionals and academia. EveryCircuit user community has collaboratively created the largest searchable library of circuit designs. EveryCircuit app runs online in popular browsers and on mobile phones and tablets, enabling you to capture design ideas and learn electronics on the go.
