Sorry, but to understand how it works i simplified it a little. Check this http://everycircuit.com/circuit/5221785158549504 Keep it up!

No needs to be sorry ;)

I modify the circuit ... There was some error in the current mirror configiration.

I still dont see a good reason for a simple demonstration why opamps are needed. They hide the core information/knowledge of this nice circuit. Whats absolut not needed now is the 500Hz ac source http://everycircuit.com/circuit/6709445630885888

It for test purpose for a design I working on. But to explain for people which don't understand... The opamp at the output is configure as difference amplifier to cancel out the DC component on each collector of the differential pair. The pot. on the top of the diff.pair is there to offset the center of the signal at the output of the opamp (in real life with poor component this is needed if you care how your output is centered otherwise this can be removed).

I know what it is all around, however, keep it simple!

Im not explaining for you... Im explaining for others which might not understand. The goal here wasn't to keep it simple ;) !!

Its ok, if you think "people" understand best what a VCA is all about. IMHO, i wont do a demostration that way. Anyway, keep it up!
