GPIO led transistor circuit

3.3vdc acting as gpio active high input. Switches to "activate"  HIGH inputs, on/off switch and potentiameter to control LEDs. 

Write a script that tests something and have the result light up an led!

Doesn't that mean "pull-up resistors", most microcontrolles have That already included. For example on arduino you can activate a pull-up resistor on a port pin just by writing logical one to the data register of the port (eg PORTB) on the respective bit, while the pin is set as input I.e. the Respective bit in data direction register of the port (eg DDRB) is reset.
