Understanding emitter follower

It is known that for a normal operation of the emitter follower with RC coupling at the output, the load resistance must be greater or equal than the resistance at the emitter. If this condition is not fulfilled, distortions appear. This example explains why this happens, by replacing emitter follower's output with an equivalent diode circuit. The 1 V voltage source was added just to prevent overlapping of the voltage curves from the two circuits on the scope.
