4 Way Switch

This was the simplest way I could think of doing this with EC. Of course, a real 4 way switch contains no relays or power supply. As you can see, each switch always allows full control of the light. Note: My grounds are all simply 0V. They are no different than neutral and not meant as actual connections to earth.

Actually its a 3way circuit. You have 3 switches for a tunnel with 3 exits. Doesn't matter were you enter the tunnel you can switch on the light and on exit you switch it off again ;-)

Despite the 4 way being modelled from German hydraulics. Ironicly the 4 way valve has a 3 position switch.

The difference is from regional differences. In and around trump land, the product is called a 4 way switch, like a 4 way intersection. Everywhere else its called 3 way circuit, for being 3 different switch locations. To be 100% correct, it is a dpdt crossover switch.

And i always wondered why people call a SPDT a "three way switch" this is complete nonsense (best case i would except a 3pol switch) were the fu.. are 3 ways (i see two or maybe 4 but not 3!)? Anyway, i have to life with this US shit ;-) But i will continue to call it "two way" or if we take the direction we go the track, a 4 way switch. And talking about a 2 way or 3 way or 4 way circuit is hopefully worldwide the identical understanding :-) thanx for clarification rich!

We don't know why. But we make good excuses. Or at least I do.

Im from Canada and Im an electrician by trade but I started working with electronics long before that. I am well aware of the multitude of misnomers used to identity switch types here. If you look closely, a "DPDT crossover switch" is exactly what the center contraption amounts to. EC doesn't really lend itself to elaborate switch types.

@jpoulin0901, the cross switch is fine and i can understand why its also called 4way switch in some countrys. I was just smile if it comes to a name for the hole circuit. Keep up the good work, i like it!
