Simple simulation of battery desulphator. Battery is represented by parallel RLC circuit serially connected to voltage source to emitor of a transistor .

What size battery is being desulphated, for how long and how often?

48V four 12V in series, desulfation duration 1-6 hours, mcu controlled based on max current, temperature and battery voltage

What type of battery are you using, the normal wet cell float charges at about13.8V and desulphates at about 15.2V, so it would need a float charger of 55.2V with a desulphate pulse of 60.8V.

Lead acid or gel high capacity battery 500 - 1000Ah. Is 60.8V pulse enough to achieve 1/10C desulphation current (50-100 amps)?

It should be like your waveform shows the pulse is on top of the float charging voltage, so even when the battery has a low charge and the charging voltage initially gets pulled down the desulphation pulse is still there & at the same ratio higher than the float voltage. I don't know how to tell when the battery has been fully desulphated, the amount of time the battery is going to be on charge would depend on how much it has been discharged, so the amount of desulphating would depend on the size of the pulse, it's frequency, and duty time, is 1-6 h after the battery is charged, if so it sounds like a lot, it would be good if they are not a sealed battery or if they have a transparent case and you can monitor them. It would depend a lot on the batteries use. A lot of smart chargers for standby batteries desulphate them every 10 charges, and some of them do that by just charging the battery up at a C10 rate until it reaches the 15.2V ratio, then drop back to the float voltage.
