Varying C3 causes simulation to indicate very high output voltages on the order of 3-6MV (6,000,000 volts)

And this is actually true :-) this what happens when u decrease capacitance of cap when is fully charged. and such phenomenon is a well known and liked parametrical amplification method main operation principle. Test it with variable tuning cap from radio ( must be with dieelectric layer type not air one those with dieelectric looks like white cubes of 4x4 cm diameter and are fully encapsulated) hook it to microammeter and start change capacitance slowly u notice a urent value rising up every time u turn the knob. And best is when you do this when you try it with open loop circ (one pin of cap to ammeter a second ammeter pin to ground) current readings will be almost identical :-) capacitor when varying act as almost ideal current source, cuz very large ammount of electrical charges of the same polarity became free when capacitance are vanish and they do not like such situation manifest this arising tremendous static electric fields to open clear path they can flow new home (ground) and we can read this flow as curent that they actually form.
