Simple led lights up if button is pressed, this is operating on a transistor, and is solely to allow people who don’t know how to use one to be able to learn (corrected)

Hi. I think this better illustrates a diode instead of a transistor. The base and emitter terminals form a diode. To see transistor action, you have to connect the collector terminal to a voltage.
