This is a DC motor controller with four transistors, using NPN and PNP and make them they act like switches when it applies 5v or 0v with an arduino as a logic output, for example, this way it's possible to control the behaviour the motor rotate forward or reverse. Controlling the bases (Bridges) with logic outputs we can program an arduino to execute several functions
