Guitar Pedal

A classic. I love just about everything Electro-Harmonix! A few things: For the purists, 43K and 430K were in the earlier models as the voltage divider. I doubt it'd make any difference on the sound, but it's good to know. Next, there's a SPST switch just after the battery. On the case, it's marked, "AMP." It's just there so you can turn off the battery to keep it from going dead when you're not using the pedal. There's also a bypass switch, otherwise, the pedal would always be on. Finally, you're pulling your output from the wrong spot. That 100K resistor is actually a potentiometer, with the output being the wiper. That acts as a volume, or intensity knob. Other than that, that's pretty much it. It's a great pedal to tinker with. You can set it up on a breadboard and then start tinkering with components until you get something you like, to have a more custom version all your own. You can also integrate this easily with other effects, like say, a Seymour Duncan pickup booster circuit. Then you get a little treble, volume, and gain boost, great for using during a solo to cut through the rest of the sound of the band.

@rk- I don't think I've seen you post any music related circuits, have you? Do you play?..

I do. I set all my circuits to private, but I've previously posted mods for the Big Muff, Crybaby, and a one-for-one replica of the Seymour Duncan pickup booster.

Oh yeah, I think I remember those now! I play too- guess I would say guitar is my primary, but drums and keyboard are fun to pay as well. Hell, put an instrument in my hands and I'll make noise come out of it! Some might not call it music, X^) but.... Do you write your own stuff or cover?..

I don't want to hijack this guy's thread, but... I mostly post guitar, but I'm alright on the drums. Used to pay the Hell or of a baritone sax, but I pretty much have that up to make more time for guitar. I write and cover, I've been in two cover bands, and one where we wrote our own stuff, but it was awful. Check out the comments to the Easy Drive circuit someone posted. There's a clip of me playing. It's not good, I recorded it with my phone, and I'm trying to hush my son, but it's me lol.
