Creates an unusual interaction between two audio input signals ( don't have to be square waves ) the signals are passively mixed then fed to a comparator, then to a lowpass filter, to smooth out the rectangular output from the comparator.
The resultant sound is metallic in nature, similar to the effect of ring modulation.
