You are switching the load in emittor, you need a pnp.

First as @pj said, zener diode not biased and for PWM use a sawtooth not triangle waveform.

If you lay the circuit out properly, you can see what is happening. All you are doing is driving an amplifier to saturation, putting a 2.5 A output thru the base of a transistor thru a lamp to ground, the rest of the circuit ain't doing much. The + & - 15Vdc is doing all the work.
