I'm sure that no one human can't see blinking at 1 kHz frequency. He can discard all those capacitors and bridge and no one will see the difference in real application.

You can use resistors to smooth the output even more.

Not exactly, resistors would draw more of a load, and drop the voltage even more, thus making the ripple more noticeable.
