What is wrong with this preamp circuit

I have been reading all sorts of science papers, articles and watched many YouTube videos, this is the most common circuit, but I will be damned if it works for me. The idea is that I will amplify the signal of an electret mic to output to a speaker(intercom setup). But..as you can see the circuit isn't amplifying. I've chosen 4.7kOhm for collector and 100 Ohm for emitter so their ratio gives me 47 gain.

If you want to change your 4.7 too a 100 ohm resistance you can see a near 5ma gain. Input resistance matters

I seem to have made it work, but that 100ohm resistor gets very very hot, I burned myself twice on it. And I need to use this circuit in a real-world situation.

For your needs you will probably have to use a small Amplifier also. Search for "Preamplifiers" then "Power Amplifiers" a year ago by thebugger. He defines the use of each and gives circuits to build from.
