I have not breadboarded this yet due to lack of large LEDs, but it looks quite simple. N Channel MOSFET 2N3904 0.75 = 1W (for 10W LED) 100K & 3.3k resistors = 1/4W TTL level PWM signal to drive ckt. Necessary to play with input voltage depending on LED requirements. Adjust 0.75 W value accordingly. Shamelessly stolen ideas (with only slight modification) from instructables dot com

What if the input available is just 14 v with 10w led driven at 12v 700mA? Also can you put the instructables link in desciption

I think 14v would be about right for a 10W LED IMHO. http://www.instructables.com/id/Build-the-Ultimate-Larson-Scanner/

In relation to input voltage & LED requirements: wouldn't it be a better idea to set input V to match whatever power supply was to be used, and also adjust LED values to match their real-life counterparts? Here's an FYI to any and all: ec's editor will change more than just the color of a LED, forward voltage drop and current parameters are just a couple of settings that allow adjustment. In fact many (but not all) components here have many setting adjustments that can be made. A component allowing multiple adjustments is denoted by a yellow highlight bar just above the value that is to be edited. Just click on that bar and a menu of the available values that can be changed will pop up.. :^)
